3 Habits I Tried And Stopped This Year — And Started Again
You and I are most likely in the same boat.
We start a few habits, we like them and we think we’re gonna be doing it for the rest of our lives. Then, as always, life happens and we skip a day or two. We fuck up.
And you know just as well as I do, that getting back up on that horse is almost harder than it was to start in the first place.
These were the habits I stopped and started again just in 2023:
𝐃𝐀𝐈𝐋𝐘 𝐌𝐄𝐃𝐈𝐓𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍
I was meditating once or even twice a day. And I did it for like 2 months straight.
Then, I got a fever and wound up stopping the habit. I didn’t meditate for 2 or 3 days and that was enough to completely overturn the habit I’d been building for 2 months.
Thankfully, I’m aware of the benefits it provides because I’ve experienced the blissfulness it brings me.
I’m getting the habit started again now. I’ve meditated for 40 minutes in the past 3 days.
𝐃𝐀𝐈𝐋𝐘 𝐉𝐎𝐔𝐑𝐍𝐀𝐋
Look, I’m not the type of guy that wants to write by hand. It’s cool and all, but only for 2 sentences, then I get tired.
And I don’t like journaling on my PC either. It feels like it’s not even real.
I’m trying something new now. Instead of writing in a piece of paper or in OneNote or Notion, I’m writing here.
It’s not really a journal, but I write whatever has been in my mind. Like this post here. This, in a way, is my journal.
I’m writing what’s been in my mind for a while and posting it. Also, because I’m posting this, it forces me to make my thoughts a little more concise to the point.

For a few months, I was waking up relatively early. Somewhere between 8 and 9.
