Here Are 3 Mistakes I Made in My Business
I’ve been in business for about 2 or 3 years now.
And sure, I’ve had a lot of help from people close to me, but nothing when it comes to actual skills or getting clients. Pretty much just help with questions like “Should I keep this client or not?” or something like this.
I try learning from other’s mistakes, but I’ve made quite a few of my own.
Here are 3 mistakes I made:
Underestimating What’s Necessary
I had no idea that most leads don’t take you up on your offer. It’s crazy.
If I told you that I’ve had months with 60+ proposals sent and 0 were accepted, you’d be as shocked as I was. I actually thought there might be a huge problem with my offer, but my clients like what I do so much that they actually ask for new invoices so they pay more (I’m not even kidding).
I knew my offer was good, so it had to be the price, right? Wrong!
I tried high prices, market prices, low prices and even SUPER low prices. Nothing worked. My conversion rate was practically the same. It actually went up a bit with the high prices, believe it or not.
So, if it weren’t the prices or the offer… What was it? Volume.
I didn’t know how much input I’d need to get the output I wanted.
So take this as a lesson: Whatever you think is necessary, 5x it!
You have no idea what “necessary” is.

This wasn’t exactly my mistake, but it did affect me indirectly.
I have my own business on the side, but my day-to-day is mostly spent on my day job where I work in my mom’s company. I try to take on as much responsibility as I can, but she’s still the boss.
She hired to old lady she knew as a receptionist. She lied to my mom in her 1st week. I immediately said: “Fire Her!”. My mom thought I was being a bit extreme and I told her she was going to regret not taking my advice. Well, she did regret it.
The lady was terrible at her job. She was bugging the whole team, asking dumb questions all day long and not even taking notes of what the…
