𝐈 𝐖𝐈𝐋𝐋 𝐓𝐄𝐀𝐂𝐇 𝐘𝐎𝐔 𝐓𝐎 𝐁𝐄 𝐑𝐈𝐂𝐇 — ⭐⭐

I was pretty disappointed.

The title promises a lot, but the content? Full of basic financial advice that you can easily find online for free.

And some of the strategies just seem like common sense repackaged with fancy jargon.

I expected unique perspectives, but instead, I got generic advice that felt like it was targeted at complete financial novices. And to be fair, it probably is.

The whole time I was reading it, I couldn’t shake the feeling that it was just another attempt to cash in on the self-help trend.

If you’re looking for a transformative financial guide, this ain’t it.

Save your time and money.

The book’s core message of valuing skills over sheer passion is an interesting one. However, I felt it lacked depth in places where it mattered.

Newport’s insistence on the “Craftsman Mindset” felt a bit one-dimensional, and I couldn’t help but think there are numerous paths to career satisfaction beyond just skill acquisition. The real-world examples provided often felt cherry-picked to suit the narrative, making the advice seem more universal than it might actually be.

For a book that challenges the “follow your passion” mantra, I was hoping for more nuance and depth.

𝐖𝐇𝐎 𝐍𝐎𝐓 𝐇𝐎𝐖 — ⭐⭐

The whole idea is instead of breaking your head on “how” to do something, just find the right “who” to do it for you.

Honestly, it felt a bit too much like “Just delegate, bro!”. I mean, yeah, passing off tasks is okay, but this book kinda makes it sound like you can just chill and let the “Whos” handle everything.

Plus, they didn’t really dive deep into the real deal of finding solid, trustworthy employees to work with.

It’s an okay read, but don’t expect it to be the secret sauce to boss-level business.
